From the Forest

Phil Cunningham, a trapper from Mactaquac, New Brunswick, has been making art all his life. But it wasn't until the early 1970's that he began making his pieces available. Self-taught, he uses materials of birch bark, spruce root, cedar bark, wood, leather, fur, stone, bone and antler to create useful, primitive vessels, baskets and other useful objects.

Phil can be found spending most of his time out on the land.
